Dear Friends of the Cybec Foundation

It is with great sadness that I let you know that the Founder of the Cybec Foundation, Dr. Roger Hamlin Stafford Riordan AM passed away peacefully on Wednesday 2 January 2019.

Born on 24 March 1934, Roger is survived by his sons Peter and Adrian, his daughter Sarah, his children’s respective partners Jenny, Kazuko and Terry and his granddaughters Alexandra and Vivian.

Roger was an expert in electronics, a pioneer of computer science who became an active philanthropist dedicated to giving others an opportunity to achieve their potential.

Through his philanthropy, Roger and his first wife Sally (dec), and more recently with his second wife Patricia (dec), enabled others to have an opportunity to achieve their potential and pursue their academic interests. His vision, unwavering passion, and overwhelming generosity has had profound long-term impact for many.

I and the Board of the Cybec Foundation will continue to build on Roger’s legacy well into the future, as was his wish.

Once plans are in place for a formal farewell and tribute to Roger, we will be in touch.

With kind regards

Ian Herman
Chairman
