Ian Herman
Chair
For more than 30 years, Ian has been involved in providing professional advisory services to businesses ranging from public companies, large private organisations through to government entities and not for profit organisations. For more than 15 of those years, Ian has held leadership and management positions within professional services firms. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Grant Thornton with responsibility for driving the firm’s responsiveness, agility and operational efficiency.
Ian has held numerous governance roles including board positions on public, private and not-for-profit organisations, as well as a member and Chair of Audit and Risk Committees and Remuneration Committees. Ian also played for Carlton and Richmond in the AFL and was previously involved in the AFL Players Association where he authored the association’s first AFL players tax advisory paper.
David Middleton
Director
David is Chief Executive Officer and Proprietor of the world-renowned Mount Mary Vineyard in Lilydale. In addition to wine production, David’s background includes work as a zoologist, research biologist, educator and veterinary surgeon. Though he is no longer involved in clinical practice, David remains actively involved in the veterinary field through his role as President Elect for the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA), Victorian Division.
David’s other interests centre on community work in population health, social justice and philanthropic support for those in need. He also retains a passion for habitat protection and species conservation receiving the Wildlife Disease Association Barry Munday Recognition Award for his "significant contribution to wildlife health in the Australasian region".
Adrian Riordan
Director
Adrian is an infrastructure architect who has designed and implemented information systems to support the enterprise infrastructure of organisations such as Barclays Investment Bank, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch. Based for much of his career in London and Tokyo, Adrian has considerable international experience in working across broad business units to expand capabilities, improve efficiency and streamline operations.
Outside of his role in Cybec Foundation, Adrian is the founder of the technology start-up, BeyondCron.
